Review of Wise Man's Grandchild - Isekai Urusai! (Spoilers) - by: Gari Chutney

Brought to us by Silver Link Studio, responsible for all sorts of isekai and school life comedy. Wise Man's Grandchild is an otherwordly story in which our protagonist is in fact, OP. To no surprise, Our MC, Shin is the key to resolving most or all conflicts. Within the first few minutes of the first episode, one may wonder, "What is the point in showing Shin's past life? Will this become important for the main story?'

I don't have the answers to that because I myself am still wondering why this anime has to be an isekai. It could've just been your normal adventure-fantasy tale. But instead, we start off in modern day Japan, only for the MC to perish within 2 minutes. And then, for the rest of the series we are in a world with mages and knights, kings and kingdoms, and demonoids. At this point in time I would like to say RIP KURT, YOU DIDN'T DESERVE THE THINGS THAT HAPPENED TO YOU. Poor boy just wanted to see what classroom he's in for the year only to get scolded and threatened by THE PRINCE of the KINGDOM for using his social status as a means to INTIMIDATE. And what happens to my boy? Off-screen brain washing only to be slaughtered to death by the MC. It's amazing that these characters have 0 trauma for when their classmate is exploited and brutally murdered. Was it in self defense? Of course. But I am having a hard time believing that there exists no anti-brainwashing potions or spells. It saddens me that these high schoolers have to engage in a flippin war as a means to be educated. The homeroom teacher was no longer relevant nor was the idea of school as a place of learning. But I digress.

What was the conflict again? Was it confessing one's love or trying to save the kingdom from the ongoing spread of demonoids? I don't know. I also don't know who the majority of these characters are. I thought they were non important classmates, but they all have a personality of their own crushes  that are acknowledged for some reason and... I honestly don't understand the direction of this show.
